About

Big Sky Bravery is a mission-driven organization dedicated to honoring, supporting, and empowering veterans and their families through community engagement, advocacy, and meaningful programs that help veterans navigate life beyond service.

Our Work Together

Lone Mountain Ranch maintains a multi-year involvement with Big Sky Bravery rooted in visible advocacy and direct impact. Ranch vehicles proudly display Big Sky Bravery license plates as a public sign of support. At Horn & Cantle, a dedicated Big Sky Bravery cocktail generates direct proceeds for ongoing program support. We enhance veteran experiences by providing rodeo tickets, sleigh ride dinners, and dining access, and we maintain an active presence at major fundraising events including PBR, Tribute Dinner, and Fight Night—demonstrating a true year-round partnership.

Warriors & Quiet Waters

Warriors & Quiet Waters is a Montana-based nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of post-9/11 combat veterans through therapeutic outdoor experiences. By combining fly fishing, mindfulness, and time in nature, the organization provides veterans with a supportive environment to heal, reconnect, and build lasting community.

Our Work Together

Lone Mountain Ranch supports Warriors & Quiet Waters through in-kind auction donations, including sleigh ride dinners and Horn & Cantle dining experiences. These contributions provide ongoing program support for therapeutic retreats serving veterans nationwide.

Montana State University Athletics & Rodeo

About

Montana State University Athletics & Rodeo represents a tradition of excellence in competition, leadership, and student development. Through its athletic programs and nationally recognized rodeo team, MSU fosters discipline, teamwork, and pride while supporting student-athletes as they compete at the highest collegiate levels.

Our Work Together

Lone Mountain Ranch has a broad, multi-year involvement with MSU Athletics and Rodeo. We donate stays and ranch experiences to the Blue & Gold Gala and Cowboys & Candlelight fundraisers, sponsor the annual Spring Rodeo, and hold 29 Bobcat Football season tickets—including a full field-level suite. We have opened our trails to the MSU Nordic Ski Team free of charge, welcoming athletes annually, while their coaches support our Nordic guides with preseason training—creating a mutually beneficial, year-round partnership. Lone Mountain Ranch is perfectly situated alongside the Gallatin River’s north fork and just an hour from the renowned Madison River—two of Montana’s most celebrated rivers for year-round fly fishing. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned angler, our expert guides will lead you to prime spots where you can cast for rainbow, brook, and the elusive native west slope cutthroat trout.

By creating inclusive opportunities year-round, Eagle Mount empowers participants to build confidence, community, and independence.

Our Work Together

Lone Mountain Ranch hosts Eagle Mount’s annual Spring Fling, welcoming dozens of participants and staff to the ranch each year. We open our trails and provide rentals, passes, guides, and lunch at Horn & Cantle—providing a full day experience at no cost. This ongoing program support now serves nearly 60 participants annually, reflecting a growing, inclusive partnership.

The Station Foundation

The Station Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting U.S. Special Operations Forces and their families through immersive retreats, peer connection, and personal development. By providing a private, restorative environment in Big Sky, Montana, the foundation helps service members and families strengthen relationships, build resilience, and thrive beyond their military service.

Our Work Together

For more than five years, Lone Mountain Ranch has hosted families on property for Nordic skiing and snowshoeing followed by lunch at Horn & Cantle. We provide experiences at no cost, covering rentals, trail access, and dining. Service members visit 1–2 times each winter, and this ongoing program support continues to create meaningful military–civilian connection.

Through advocacy, community service, and veteran support programs, the American Legion works to strengthen communities while honoring those who have served.

All families are welcome, and every level of involvement makes a difference as we work together to make Big Sky a great place to learn and grow.

Our Work Together

Lone Mountain Ranch supports the Big Sky Pie Auction and has hosted youth ski days for grades K–8 in the past, providing gear, passes, and guides. We have opened our trails to students at no cost, welcoming hundreds of participants annually and expanding access to Nordic skiing through ongoing program support.

Family Promise

Family Promise is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to helping families experiencing homelessness achieve sustainable independence. Through shelter, prevention, and stabilization programs, Family Promise works with communities to provide safe housing, compassionate support, and pathways to long-term stability.

Our Work Together

Lone Mountain Ranch provides ongoing program support through silent auction donations for major donor fundraising events, such as a sleigh ride dinner experience. The fundraising from these events directly helps families access housing stabilization services.

Big Sky School District

About

Ophir Public Schools are the heart-and-soul of the Big Sky School District #72 — a cozy, community-centered public system where kiddos get to learn against a backdrop of crazy gorgeous mountain views. The district includes Ophir Elementary (PK–5) and Ophir Middle (6–8), both small schools that let students and teachers really get to know each other — think tight-knit vibes, big opportunities, and a real sense of belonging. They’re part of a K–12 district that feeds into Lone Peak High School, and the whole setup reflects that Big Sky spirit of exploration, growth, and outdoor fun with academics.

Our Work Together

Lone Mountain Ranch has hosted fully outfitted cross-country ski days for every grade level (K-8) providing gear, trail passes, staffing support, and guides. We have opened our trails and provided experiences at no cost for students—welcoming hundreds of participants annually. Teachers also receive complimentary season passes as part of our year-round partnership.

Big Sky Youth Empowerment (BYEP)

Big Sky Youth Empowerment (BYEP) is a Gallatin Valley–based nonprofit that supports teens facing challenges such as trauma, housing instability, and mental health stressors through strength-based mentorship. BYEP pairs youth with caring mentors for outdoor adventures and community-building experiences that foster confidence, resilience, and connection. Their programs create a safe, supportive space where teens can grow, feel empowered, and build meaningful relationships—usually with a little dirt, fresh air, and joy involved.

Our Work Together

Lone Mountain Ranch donated youth Nordic ski gear—including boots, poles, and skis—to expand access to winter programming. We continue to provide in-kind fundraising contributions, reinforcing our year-round partnership supporting youth resilience.

Big Sky SNO

Big Sky SNO is a community-based nonprofit that connects local youth to snow sports through accessible programs, instruction, and mentorship in the Big Sky area.
