The Trapper's Den
The Trapper’s Den, a cigar cabin now situated at Lone Mountain Ranch has an intriguing history that began over a century ago in the remote Crazy Mountains of Montana. Built in 1915, the same year as the Lone Mountain Ranch homestead, this cabin originally served as a rugged shelter for trappers braving the wilderness in pursuit of highly lucrative pelts.
Relocating the cabin to Lone Mountain Ranch has preserved a piece of early trapping history, offering visitors a chance to step back in time while enjoying rustic elegance. Inside the newly restored, climate-controlled cabin, guests will find intimate seating for up to eight, a vinyl record player with a thoughtfully curated music collection, and rich wood interiors. A state-of-the-art ventilation system ensures an optimal smoking experience. Outside, a spacious wraparound deck provides sweeping ranch views, features two outdoor fireplaces, and accommodates up to 50 guests.
Exclusive to on-ranch adult (21+) guests and Auric Room members, the Cigar Cabin is a private retreat that is not open to the public. Guests can elevate their experience by pairing cigars with fine wine and spirits from the Horn & Cantle saloon.

The Trapper’s Den is available on a limited basis for Private Buyouts for groups of 8 that can be seated inside and up to an additional 50 guests for cocktail receptions on the deck.

Hidden behind a secret entrance, this intimate gathering place offers tables, private booths and a cigar terrace with stunning ranch views. Our culinary offerings, crafted with local ingredients feature dishes like Bison Milanese and Wagyu Beef Katsu Sando, promise an unforgettable dining experience.
